PSHE in Moulton Primary School
The PSHE curriculum is predominantly taught through the Jigsaw scheme.
This is a whole school approach to PSHE and is nationally recognised as a holistic approach to helping children become confident, aware of themselves as individuals and as part of a community as well as being able to express themselves and discuss their feelings.
The children will be taught 6 themes over the year which are repeated and age appropriate. Each new year’s work will link to the previous learning:
- Being Me in My World
- Celebrating Difference
- Dreams and Goals
- Healthy Me
- Changing Me
There will be other occasions where impromptu PSHE sessions are required – meeting the needs of an individual, a class or a year group, and these often take the form of Circle Time lessons.
We are proud that the children engage so well in these activities and that they are great listeners and communicators.
The scheme is also available for KS3 children.
Moulton Primary School has been an early adopter of the new RE (Relationships Education) scheme which will become statutory in September 2020
